It allows us to create Character Rig and Animation that support complex collisions or interactions between 3D objects. Character Tools now integrated with the newest physics engine. Some of the new features include Character Tools, PForce Object, Volume Builder and Mesh Builder. Although most of the updates are more inclined towards software performance and compatibility with Mac Devices, they also add many new features. Thank you and apologies again for writing such an essay. What do you guys think? Would going for a PC system like the one I described be a bit overkill? Or would it be night and day in terms of performance and a justifiable leap for me? What I'm trying to say is I don't know whether the new MacBook will perform well enough for my 3D needs -will it be much much quicker than my current 5300m? - I know everything is being optimised as we speak with the M1 being still new and there's not many clear videos or articles on this that I could find that are not biased -ie comparing the MacBook's performance with that of an RTX 3080, etc.īear in mind I'd only use the PC for 3D -I absolutely despise the Windows UI -so I'd still use the Mac for 2D design and my day-to-day stuff. I would mainly use C4D to render experiential stands and advertising stuff but I want to get more into realistic product beauty shots, etc. I 100% had to buy this laptop though, I had no choice)Īnyway, my question is: should I spend 3.7k on the new 16 M1 Max MacBook Pro with 64gb of RAM, etc and keep a nice tidy and familiar setup or should I keep my current Macbook and buy a parts desktop PC for around 3k with a 12 gen Intel i7 3.6ghz, 32gb of RAM and an RTX 3080 / 3080 Ti? (Bear in mind I'm already quite pissed off after having spent more than 2k on an Intel MacBook Pro 16 less than 2 years ago and now seeing the -predictable- lack of support and depreciation after the switch to M1. but this was short-lived after updating to Monterey and seeing Octane doesn't work on Intel-based Macs, so I think it's time for an upgrade. Recently I've been getting more and more C4D projects and after trying Octane for Mac I was so happy I could render so much faster, etc. I'm writing as an Apple user for more than 15 years, being a 2D graphic designer who mostly works with Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign but have also always had an ever growing interest in Cinema4D. This is my first post practically on any discussion forum so please excuse any mistakes -and essays- I might make along the way.
